Physical and Financial Fitness-Finding ways to afford both


If you’re struggling to take charge of your finances, whether you have filed for bankruptcy, a consumer proposal, or you are visiting our site before you need to take those measures, you’ve probably found that your stress level has kept pace with your debt level.  

You may also have found that your membership to your local gym or recreation center may be one of the items that you are finding is no longer affordable.  If you live in the Greater Victoria area and are on a limited income, you may qualify for a range of recreation opportunities at reduced rates. 

Qualified applicants receive a reduction in registration costs for many programs and 52 complimentary drop-in admissions honoured throughout all the Greater Victoria Municipal Rec Centers.   

The program is a shared community program available from Seaparc, Esquimalt Recreation, Oak Bay Recreation, Panorama Leisure Center, Saanich Parks and Recreation, West Shore Parks and Recreation and the City of Victoria.

Who is eligible?

         Residents of all Greater Victoria Municipalities with a combined household income within or below the Statistics Canada Low Income Threshold.  Check out the following link to access current information

         The LIFE program is available in all Greater Victoria Municipalities, however applicants must apply in the municipality where they reside and show proof residency (water bill, hydro bill, rental agreement etc.)
